Sarah Pavsner began her training at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the area of Time Arts.  Eventually, Sarah obtained her Bachelors of Media Arts at the University of South Carolina, with a concentrate in photography. Sarah worked as a freelance photographer and fine art photographic printer in both South Carolina and Washington, D.C. Currently, as an artist and educator, Ms. Pavsner has exhibited throughout the Southern California region, developed curriculum that infuses both art and writing and has facilitated art workshops for children with Autism.

Sarah Pavsner’s visual vocabulary is a derivative of her early exposures to Detroit’s vacant factories, and burnt down houses. Her aesthetic approach is juxtaposed with the eternal feelings of loss brought on by the death of her father at a young age. Presently she is enticed by creating pieces that explore pattern within the framework of nature, and humanity. Sarah also finds the use of material to be central to creating the symbolic framework of her pieces

Other meaningful influence is her role as an educator.  Her students often times unearth new ways of thinking that often challenge her conceptual framework.
